Carli Lloyd is an American professional former soccer player. She is the daughter of Pamela Lloyd, Stephen Lloyd.

The former soccer player had a decade long fallout with her family. She initially addressed the familial situation in her 2016 book When Nobody Was Watching: My Hard-Won Journey to the Top of the Football World.
She revealed that she had not spoken to her family since her father kicked her out of the house in 2008, and she had not been invited to her sister’s wedding.
Much of the issue originated from her 17-year connection with personal coach James Galanis, with whom she parted ways in 2020. Her relatives believed James had come between them, causing her to be socially isolated.

When Carli Lloyd married her husband professional golfer Brian Hollins in 2016, she still didn’t have contact with her family.
“They’ve missed out on my wedding,” she says. “I didn’t feel anything. The plan was for me to become the best in the world and accomplish everything I wanted to accomplish in the soccer world but it’s freakin’ hard though.”
Lloyd’s relationship with her sister was rekindled when she published her book. She told Today that her sister “kind of helped break the ice a little bit” while she sought to mend her relationship with the rest of her family.
Lloyd’s parents and brother first visited her in 2020, and they have spent countless holidays together since then.
