Who was Nick Benedict? ‘All My Children’ Soap Star Dead at 77

Nick Benedict was an American film and television actor who made his acting debut in 1955 in the series Wiretapper as a child. He was born to popular actor and film director, Richard Benedict. His first performance as an adult was in Mike and the Mermaid when he was 17.  He also appeared in 1969, the Mission Impossible TV series episode, The Vault.

He had his first important role as star-crossed Vietnam veteran Philip Brent on the ABC soap opera All My Children, where he played the role for six years and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award during his last year on the show.

Benedict died on his birthday, July 14, 2023, from complications following emergency spinal surgery. He was 77 at the time of his death.

He was survived by his wife, Ginger Benedict. His death was announced via a Facebook post by a restaurant where his wife worked. Before his death, he was admitted at the hospital for two weeks.
