Alcindor’s husband, Nathaniel Cline works as a reporter at Loudoun Times-Mirror. The duo have been married since 2018. In May 2023, they welcomed a baby boy and named him Yrie Myles Alcindor Cline.

Alcindor began her journalism career in 2009 as a reporter for Newsday, before she joined USA Today in 2015 as a political reporter.
