He was involved in a hit-and-run incident on July 9 in Scottsdale, Arizona, which resulted in the Arizona Coyotes terminating his contract just 13 days after he signed with them as a free agent.
According to the police complaint, Galchenyuk threatened the officers with violence during the arrest as a result of his automobile crashing into a sign. He also demonstrated difficult behavior and used racist slurs against a trainee cop while citing his connections to Russia.

Galchenyuk is anticipated to enroll in the player assistance program as soon as Tuesday, according to sources who spoke with ESPN. The NHLPA is debating whether to lodge a grievance about the contract termination on his behalf.
