Sean Gunn Parents: Meet James F. Gunn, Leota Gunn

Sean Gunn is an American actor and writer. He is the son of James F. Gunn and Leota Gunn.

His father James F. Gunn is a retired partner and corporate attorney with the law firm Thompson Coburn in St. Louis.

Sean Gunn is best known for his role as Kirk Gleason in the television series “Gilmore Girls” (2000-2007, 2016). He portrayed the quirky and lovable character throughout the show’s original run and reprised the role in the 2016 revival.

In addition to “Gilmore Girls,” Sean Gunn has had notable roles in James Gunn’s films. He appeared as Kraglin Obfonteri, a member of the Ravagers, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014) and its sequel “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” (2017). Gunn also provided the motion capture performance for the character Rocket Raccoon in those films, serving as the visual reference for the CGI creation.

Outside of his acting work, Sean Gunn has also written and directed films. He wrote and directed the independent film “Nobody Knows Anything!” (2003) and co-wrote the screenplay for the horror film “The Belko Experiment” (2016).
