Has Carlee Russell been found?

Carlee Russell, an American woman who vanished on Thursday, July 13 2023 when she stopped to help a stranded toddler on a busy highway was found alive Saturday, July 15 2023.

Carlee Russell was reported to have been found on Saturday night, July 15, 2023, at her family’s front door. She was transferred to a nearby hospital.

Nicholas Derzis, the chief of Hoover Police, said he was not sure how Russel got there. Hoover police shared that details will be made available as they continue their investigation into where Russell has been during the two-day disappearance.

Carlee Russell vanished after telling a 911 dispatcher and her family she saw a child wandering alone. Her mother, Talitha Russell, told police that her daughter was on the phone with her brother’s girlfriend.

“Carlee pulled over after saying she saw a child that appeared to be 3 or 4 years old. “She probably let her guard down thinking 911 would be there in a second‚” Talitha Russell said.

“My son’s girlfriend heard her asking the child, ‘Are you OK? She never heard the child say anything but then she heard our daughter scream,’’ Talitha Russell said. “All you hear on her phone is background noise from the interstate.”
