Kevin Shattenkirk is a professional ice hockey player from the United States. He is the son of Patrick Shattenkirk and Barbara Shattenkirk.

Shattenkirk began his career with the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club before attending the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn.
He then joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Programme and was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round (14th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Avalanche during the 2010-2011 season.

Throughout his NHL career, Shattenkirk has played for multiple teams. After his time with the Avalanche, he was traded to the St. Louis Blues, where he played from 2011 to 2017.

Following his stint with the Blues, Shattenkirk signed as a free agent with the Washington Capitals for the 2017-2018 season. He then played for the New York Rangers during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons.
In 2019, Shattenkirk signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning and had a successful tenure with the team. He played a key role in the Lightning’s 2020 Stanley Cup championship run, contributing offensively from the blue line.
Kevin Shattenkirk currently plays as a defenseman for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL).
