Soccer star James Sands is no longer with the Rangers. He had made a comeback to New York City FC, after playing on loan for the Rangers.

Why did James Sands leave Rangers?
Sands had left the Rangers because the club was not ready to sign him in to a permanent contract. He however made a comeback to New York City FC to sign a new five-year contract.
About James Sands
James Sands has played soccer with the United States under-17s in several international matches such as the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, and the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In 2023, Sands was named to the 2023 Gold Cup roster to represent the United States.

Sands’ soccer career began at age 10, with the New York Soccer Club. In 2017, he was signed in by the team, and made his professional debut in a match against the Colorado Rapids.
In 2021, Sands played in the MLS Cup in which his team won their first MLS Cup, after a victory over the Portland Timbers.
Sands has additionally played for Louisville City and Rangers on loan, during which he appeared in the 2022 UEFA Europa League.
Sands now plays as a center-back / defensive midfielder for New York City FC (NYCFC).
