Elly Antonio De La Cruz is a Dominican professional baseball infielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is the son of Carmen and Antonio Cruz.

Elly speaks about his mother often during news conferences, whereas De La Curz has never mentioned his father. Elly De La Cruz has five brothers, including one twin brother named Pedro.

Elly is quite close to his mother, Carmen. In a 2022 interview with The Enquirer, he credited his success to his mother. He considered quitting the sport and returning home, but his mother encouraged him to persevere.
She also informed Elly that she will always be proud of him, even if he never makes it to the big leagues. He made his MLB debut in 2023.
