George Chelston Springer III is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Major League Baseball (MLB) Toronto Blue Jays.

He is the son of Laura Springer and George Springer II. His mother Laura Springer who is from Utuado, Puerto Rico competed as a top-level gymnast.
George Springer’s father, George Jr., played college football for the UConn Huskies and competed in the 1976 Little League World Series. George Springer has two sisters, Nicole and Lena, both of whom played college softball.
His grandfather George Springer immigrated from Panama at the age of 17 and pitched for four years at Teachers College of Connecticut, now Central Connecticut State University.

George Springer was selected by the Astros in the first round (11th overall) of the 2011 MLB draft. In 2014, he made his MLB debut with the Astros. Springer has mostly played right field but has also seen time in centre field.
He was an MLB All-Star, Silver Slugger Award winner, and World Series champion in 2017. He was also voted the 2017 World Series MVP after hitting a record-tying five home runs. He was an All-Star again in 2018, 2019, and 2022.
