Inspired by his father who was a competitive cyclist, Ewan started bicycle racing at the age of eight and started cycling competitively at age 10.

In 2010, Caleb proved that he means business in cycling when he emerged winner at the Junior National Road Race.

In 2011, he cemented his position as a ‘hot cake’ after he won multiple disciplines at the Junior National Track Championships and became World Champion omnium at the Junior Track World Championships.

Ewan is currently participating in the 2023 Tour de France and has his eyes set on the prize.

How much does Caleb Ewan stand to win?

For the 2023 Tour de France, the total prize fund remains consistent at €2,308,200 (approximately $2.5 million/£1.9 million). When additional contributions, such as subscriptions to the rider’s union, are factored in, the overall fund amounts to around €2.5 million ($2.8 million/£2.2 million).

The majority of this is split between the top general classification riders, with ample also going to stage winners, top sprinters, most combative riders on each stage, and the rider who crosses the Tour de France’s highest peak first.

The prize money is the same as last year when Jonas Vingegaard topped the podium.

Jonas looks to be in a prime position again for this year’s Tour following a decisive victory in the Critérium du Dauphiné.
