Football star Cyriel Dessers was born to a Belgian father and a Nigerian mother, who goes by the name Sophie Bakry.

Dessers once said that his mother had wanted him to become a lawyer, but unfortunately, he had no interest in the profession.
About Cyriel Dessers
Cyriel Dessers is a Belgian-born footballer with Nigerian heritage. He has represented Nigeria in a few international matches, including the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations.
Dessers currently plays as a forward for the Serie B club Cremonese. He had joined the club in 2022, after agreeing to a four-year contract.

Throughout his career, Dessers has played for OH Leuven, Lokeren, NAC Breda, FC Utrecht, Heracles Almelo, Genk, Feyenoord, Cremonese, and team Nigeria.
In 2016, Dessers moved to NAC Breda, where he played for three seasons, and finished the last season with 29 goals in 40 matches.
He further played for FC Utrecht, Genk and later played for Dutch football club Feyenoord on loan. While at Feyenoord, he scored the team’s fourth goal in a match against PSV.
