Gabriela Alaniz won her first world boxing championship in Merlo, in 2022, when she faced Tamara Elisabet DeMarco, and won twice in the first round. Alaniz had won by way of a seventh-round technical knockout.

Later in the same year, Alaniz was made to defend her title for the first time, in a bout against Venezuelan challenger Debora Rengifo. She had dropped Rengifo in the seventh round, and eventually won the fight by technical knockout.
Alaniz has held the WBO female flyweight world title since 2022.
Following her debut in 2018, she has engaged in 14 boxing bouts, and won all, with 6 of her wins earned by way of knockout.
The Argentina national champion, Alaniz has faced the likes of Aixa Adema, and Anyelen Loreley Espinosa, whom she dropped in the first round before winning by stoppage in the fourth round.
