Michael Baden-Powell, 4th Baron Baden-Powell parents: Meet Peter Baden-Powell, 2nd Baron Baden-Powell & Carine Crause-Boardman – Michael Baden-Powell, 4th Baron Baden-Powell an Australian insurance sales agent and financial planner, who was active in supporting the Scout Movement has died. Michael was born on 11 December 1940 and died on 3 July 2023 at the age of 82.

Michael was the second son of Peter Baden-Powell, 2nd Baron Baden-Powell, and Carine Boardman.
He inherited the barony following the death of his elder brother Robert in 2019. He was the grandson of the founder of World Scouting, Robert Baden-Powell, and Olave Baden-Powell, as well as a great-grandson of the mathematician Baden Powell.

Michael’s father Peter Baden-Powell was born in England, to Lieutenant-General Sir Robert Baden-Powell and Olave St. Clair Soames.
Peter attended Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.
He entered the Royal Military College, Sandhurst but did not complete the course. He served in the British South Africa Police (BSAP) in Southern Rhodesia from 1934 to 1937, when the second world war ended after which he returned to Britain and became a director of companies, and a Special Constable with the City of London Police.

He was married to Carine Crause Boardman (1913 – 14 May 1993), a nurse from Johannesburg, South Africa. They tied the knot on 3 January 1936.
At the time, marriage was forbidden by the BSAP terms of service, so he obtained employment in the Southern Rhodesia Native Affairs Department from 1937 to 1945.
