Michael Baden-Powell, 4th Baron Baden-Powell cause of death – David Michael Baden-Powell, 4th Baron Baden-Powell, an Australian insurance sales agent and financial planner, who was active in supporting the Scout Movement has died. Baden-Powell was born on 11 December 1940 and died on 3 July 2023 at the age of 82. A cause of death was not stated.

Michael was the second son of Peter Baden-Powell, 2nd Baron Baden-Powell, and Carine Boardman.

He inherited the barony following the death of his elder brother Robert in 2019.

Michael was educated at Pierrepont School, Frensham, England after which he worked for Fairey Aviation as a draftsman until April 1965 when he migrated to Australia
and became an insurance sales agent.

Michael had been a Scout Leader in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia.

He was an active member of Scouts Victoria, serving as State Commissioner – Special Duties.

He had previously held a variety of different positions within the organization, including membership in affiliated charitable groups such as the Global Scout Foundation and the Victorian Scout Foundation.

He was also a Freemason and previous Master of Baden-Powell Lodge No. 488 in Melbourne, Victoria, the first Masonic Lodge named after his grandfather, who contributed to the Book of Sacred Law in 1931.

Baden-Powell was also a Freemason of Lodge of Unity Peace and Concord (UK), two Masonic Lodges in the USA, and an honorary member of Lodge Amalthea (Melbourne).

He is survived by his wife Joan Phillips Berryman and three sons David Robert Baden-Powell, Alexander Peter Baden-Powell, and Myles Warrington Baden-Powell.
