Glavine played in the MLB for 22 seasons from 1987 to 2008. During his career, Glavine won two Cy Young Awards, which are given annually to the best pitchers in the National League. He won his first Cy Young in 1991 and his second in 1998.

Tom Glavine was a ten-time All-Star and played a pivotal role in the success of the Braves during the 1990s, helping the team win five National League pennants and the World Series in 1995.
