Mickey Moniak is an American professional baseball player who currently plays as an outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels in the MLB. He was born in Encinitas, California.

He attended La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California where he played centre field for the baseball team. He was named High School Player of the Year by Baseball America, Gatorade California Baseball Player of the Year, and San Diego Section Player of the Year.
Moniak committed to play college baseball for the UCLA Bruins at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He was chosen first overall by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2016 MLB drafts.

He signed with the Phillies on June 20, 2016, after agreeing to a $6.1 million signing bonus. Moniak made his professional debut in 2016 with the Gulf Coast Phillies’ Rookie League.
Moniak made his MLB debut on September 16, 2020, becoming the 68th player in MLB history to make their debut as the first overall pick. Moniak was traded to the Los Angeles Angels on August 2, 2022, along with prospect Jadiel Sanchez, for starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard. The next day, he made his Angels debut, going 0-for-2 against the Oakland Athletics.
