The Ecuadorian national Rosero and Carapaz reportedly met at school when she was 14 and he was 16.
In a 2019 interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, Carapaz revealed that Tania Rosero is “the love of his life”.

“She is the love of my life and she has always supported me. Tania Rosero and Richard Carapaz have been married for more than seven years and together they share two children; Aimy Sofía Carapaz and Richard Santiago Carapaz.
