Barbara Dana was born in New York City, New York, USA on December 28, 1940. She is an actress and writer who has appeared in films such as The In-Laws (1979), New York Television Theatre (1965), and Great Performances (1971).
Barbara Dana co-starred alongside her ex-husband Alan Arkin on Sesame Street in the 1970s. They lived in Chappaqua, New York during their marriage.

Arkin’s acting career began in the late 1950s, and he gained recognition for his performances in theater, film, and television. Some of Alan Arkin’s notable film roles include “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming” (1966), “Catch-22” (1970), “The In-Laws” (1979), “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, and “Argo” (2012), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Alan Arkin passed away on June 29 2023. Arkin’s death was confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement by his three sons. “Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man,” they said.
“A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed.” Despite his death being confirmed, an exact cause was not provided.
