He posted a 27-save shutout in only his second USHL appearance. He finished with a 5-1-0 record and a.906 save percentage.
He was a standout at the 2023 World Juniors, where he stunned the US with a 33-save performance to help the Slovaks win 6-3 and nearly upset Canada, allowing only three goals and forcing overtime before Connor Bedard defeated him on Canada’s 57th attempt.
Despite Slovakia not winning a medal, his efforts earned him the title of Best Goaltender of the Tournament.
If Gajan continues his upward trajectory, he will undoubtedly join the ranks of the top NHL goaltenders in the coming years – a spot that comes with a huge paycheck.
