Kroeger is the lead singer and lead guitarist of the rock music group Nickelback.

He first sang with the cover band, Village Idiot, as far back as the 1990s.

In 2001, Kroeger founded the band The Suits XL, and later co-founded the Vancouver-based 604 Records. His band, Suits XL became a nominee for a Canadian Indie Award in 2007.

Kroeger’s band Nickelback, had released its debut album, “Curb” in 1996, but their third studio album, “Silver Side Up” (2001), shot them to international fame.

The album’s lead single, “How You Remind Me,” became a massive hit, topping charts worldwide and eventually earned the band a Grammy nomination.

Kroeger co-wrote and sang on Santana’s chart-topping hit, “Into the Night”. He also collaborated with artists like Timbaland, Daughtry, and his now former wife Avril Lavigne.

As a solo artiste, Kroeger is known for the song “Hero,” which he composed for the film “Spider-Man” in 2002.

Additionally, Kroeger owns the record label 604 Records, which provides a platform for emerging Canadian artists.

Outside of music, Kroeger supports many charitable causes, including the efforts of the Athletes for Africa Foundation, the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, and the One X One organization.
