Yuka Saso is a Philippine-born Japanese professional golfer. She was born on June 20, 2001, in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, Philippines to a Filipina mother and a Japanese father.

She held both Japanese and Filipino citizenship but was required by Japanese nationality law to renounce one of her two citizenship by the time she turned 22 in 2023.
Saso declared her intention to retain her Japanese citizenship in November 2021. She had finished the procedure by January 2022.
She represented the Philippines in international golf competitions until 2021, but he began competing for Japan officially in 2022. Saso gained international recognition for her success in the sport at a young age.

Yuka Saso turned professional in 2019 and competed on various tours, including the Japan LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. She earned her first professional win at the 2020 NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament on the Japan LPGA Tour.
In June 2021, Yuka Saso made history by becoming the first Filipino golfer to win a major championship. She claimed victory at the U.S. Women’s Open, one of the most prestigious tournaments in women’s golf.
