Walker Jenkins committed and signed to play college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team. Walker Jenkins was also selected to play in the High School All-American Game at Dodger Stadium.

Walker Jenkins ran a 6.75 in the sixty-yard dash and is a primary outfielder and a left-handed hitter. Walker Jenkins attended South Brunswick High School in Southport, North Carolina, where he played baseball.

As a junior,  was named the Gatorade North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year. In the summer of 2022, Walker Jenkins participated in the Prospect Development Pipeline League at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
