Vanessa Redgrave Husband: Meet Franco Nero

Franco Nero is an Italian actor, producer, director and husband of veteran actress Vanessa Redgrave.

Nero was born in 1941, and is known for playing the titular character in the 1966 film Django. So far he has appeared in over 200 films and TV shows.

Between the 1960s and 1970s, Nero played notable roles in the Italian poliziotteschi, gialli, and Spaghetti Westerns.

Some of his film credits include “The Bible: In the Beginning…, Camelot, The Day of the Owl, The Mercenary, Battle of Neretva, Tristana, Compañeros, Confessions of a Police Captain, The Fifth Cord, High Crime, and Street Law.”

Others include “Keoma, Hitch-Hike, Force 10 from Navarone, Enter the Ninja, Die Hard 2, Letters to Juliet, Cars 2, John Wick: Chapter 2, and The Pope’s Exorcist.”

His wife, Vanessa Redgrave has had a successful film career spanning six decades. Some of her notable film roles include Morgan!, Blow-Up, Julia, The Bostonians, Howard’s End, Mission: Impossible” films, Atonement, amongst many others.

The duo had first met on the set of the 1966 movie musical Camelot. Redgrave had played Guinevere, while Nero acted the brave knight Lancelot.

They reunited and got married in 2006, after years of being apart. They also have a son named Carlo Gabriel Nero.
