David Bohrman Obituary

American television news executive, David Bohrman has been reported dead. His death occurred on Sunday, June 25, 2023. He died after complications from hip surgery at the age of 69.

“He was the creator of more news programming than almost any other producer working in television news today. Wherever he went, David was an innovator using the latest technology to enhance storytelling. He was a mentor to many,” CNN’s Leadership team wrote in a memo to employees after his death on Sunday evening.

Tributes have been pouring in from social media after his death was announced.

“David Bohrman was a giant among journalists, with a deep respect for our history as a profession, and an enthusiastic embrace of our possible future. He was an editorial and technological genius. And to me, he was a boss, a mentor, a confidant, and a friend,” Ali Velshi wrote.

“David Bohrman gave me my first job in television. He was an innovative producer, a creative mind, a straight shooter, and I am glad to have been part of one of his many tv show creations at MSNBC. May his memory be a blessing,” Jeremy Newsberger also shared.

“Sad news. David Bohrman took a risk and brought me in to CNN. I will always be grateful to him for that opportunity,” Pete Dominick.

“David Bohrman gave me my first iPhone. I always enjoyed our conversations and his desire to be creative and innovative. Let’s not forget to live shot hologram. May he rest in peace,” Evan Glass.
