Born on July 23, 1953, Claude Barzotti began his musical career in France in 1981 with his song Madame, which sold 400,000 copies. However, later in the year, Barzotti found widespread success with his song Le Rital, which made him very known in the limelight and led him to become a household name.

His career success continued through the ’80s, however, his success started facing setbacks when he released his last major song Aime-moi (Love Me) in 1990. At that point, many people considered his career to be totally over.

Even though he was unable to capture the fans with his spectacular voice like he once did, he was still considered by many as one of the most prominent French pop musicians of the 1980s.
Some of his songs also gained massive popularity in Quebec, Canada. Songs like Je ne t’ecrirai plus (I Won’t Write You Anymore), Prends bien soin d’elle (Take Good Care of Her), C’est moi qui pars (It’s Me Who’s Leaving), J’ai les bleus (I Have the Blues), and more, were some of them.
Barzotti tried to make a comeback with his best-of compilation which was released in France in 2003. On August 8, 2007, he released a new single dubbed Jada, and the proceeds of the song was donated to children in poor countries who do not have access to education.
