Ander Barrenetxea is a footballer who plays as a forward or left winger for the Basque club Real Sociedad.
Born on December 27, 2001, in San Sebastian, Spain, Ander had trained with Real Sociedad’s youth club, before he turned pro.
He joined the club’s senior team in the 2018–19 season, while playing in the amateur fourth tier. His contract was later renewed and will expire in 2025.

Ander first played for La Liga as a late substitute for Real Sociedad in 2018. He became “the first 21st century player to participate in the competition, the 26th-youngest in the division overall, and the Sociedad’s youngest since the Spanish Civil War.”
Ander was promoted to the senior team and ended up playing for Sanse in 2019, scoring his first professional goal for the first team in a match against Real Madrid CF.
The same year, Ander was promoted to the main squad of the Txuri-urdin.
On the international front, Ander has played for the Spain Under-16, and Under-18 teams.
