Heather Mack is an American heiress, criminal and convicted murderer. She was born in 1995 to jazz musician and composer James L. Mack and Sheila Ann von Wiese.

Her father James L. Mack dies in his hotel room from a pulmonary embolism on August 6 2006 during their family vacation in Greece.
Despite the existence of a will dated 5 days before James L. Mack’s death, which directed that his entire estate be given to Heather Mack, the $500,000 was awarded to Sheila Mack by a Cook County, Illinois judge.

Heather Mack and her mother allegedly had a strained relationship, with police reporting 86 visits to the home between 2004 and 2013. Heather punched her mother’s broken ankle in January 2010.

She was also charged with stealing $1000. Heather broke her mother’s arm in February 2011, then cut the phone cord to prevent her mother from dialling 911. Heather threatened her mother once more in July 2011. She bit her mother in November 2012, leaving a bruise, but her mother refused to allow police to photograph it.
Heather and her boyfriend Tommy murdered her mother, Sheila von Wiese, in August 2014, while on vacation in Bali, Indonesia. She was sentenced to ten years in prison, of which she served seven.
