Tim Leissner is a German-born investment banker and the estranged husband of Kimora Lee Simmons an American fashion model, fashion designer, and businesswoman.

The couple got married in 2014 and have one child together. Kimora Lee Simmons and Leissner were reported to be estranged from each other in February 2022, though it is unclear when the couple split.
Leissner was still married to his ex-wife, Judy Chan when he married Simmons. To persuade Simmons that the couple was divorced, Leissner provided photoshopped documents showing that he was divorced from Chan and created an email address in Chan’s name.
He kept the correspondence going for over a year and used the email account for several years. Tim Leissner served as managing director and chairman of Goldman Sachs’ Southeast Asia division.

Leissner was a key figure in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal, one of the world’s largest financial scandals in which billions of dollars were stolen. In June 2018, he was arrested in Washington, D.C.
In 2018, Leissner pled guilty to charges that he stole $200 million from the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB and violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) by paying bribes to corrupt Malaysian and Emirati offices to get Goldman Sachs business.
