Sorry to hear about the death of Urge Overkill drummer Blackie Onassis. I interviewed him and King Roeser when they played in London in 1991. The interview ended up in the first edition of our boilingly angry fanzine Moral Sense. He was a good fella,” Rocking Forster said.

That’s terrible news. Sorry to hear it, and going to listen to UO, and appreciate what a cool guy he was,” Zach.

Very sad to hear that Blackie Onassis of Urge Overkill has passed. He was a f***ing dude and then some. God bless,” a fan wrote.

“Sorry to hear about the death of Blackie Onassis. Sounds like he didn’t have a particularly easy time over the years. I love UO, a band that has no bad albums. Rest well, John Rowan,” another fan wrote.

RIP Blackie Onassis. I always enjoyed his bad faux drumming in this ala Keith Mon (also the last known footage of the old Coliseum). I think Jesus Lizard’s ‘Puss’ is about him, but RIP nonetheless,” McKie Show Lounge.
