As co-host of the program Wheeler Dealers with Mike Brewer, Anstead replaced Edd China in 2017 as a co-host.
In order to produce his own program, The World’s Most Expensive Cars, Anstead founded his own television production firm.
A new Channel 4 auto show with British actor Philip Glenister was offered to him in 2014.
As Wheeler Dealers’ co-host in 2017, Anstead took Edd China’s seat.

Anstead has a daughter and son with his first wife Louise. They divorced in 2017.
He started dating American television personality Christina Haack in October 2017. On 22 December 2018, they married at their Newport Beach, California home.
Together they have a son, born in September 2019. The couple later separated in September 2020 and then divorced the following year.
Seven months after his split from Haack, in April 2021, he started dating American actress Renée Zellweger.
