Former England rugby football player, Paul Rendall has died at the age of 69 after battling motor neuron disease for one year. His death occurred on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Tributes have been pouring in after his death was announced on social media.

“We lost Paul Rendall ‘The Judge’ today. Here celebrating having just beaten Australia in 1988. The man quietly taught a young captain the importance of enjoying life! He was a master. He was also genuine, kind, loyal, and tough. A lovely man,” former England rugby football captain, Will Carling said.

“So sad to hear of the passing of Paul Rendall… the judge. I have been lucky enough to have known the Judge for many years. He was a loyal friend with a kind, big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by me and my team at VU,” Victor Ubogu.
“RIP – The Judge. My great friend Paul Rendall died today. In the maelstrom of the international front row, he looked after me, and we developed a bond that all front-row players know is special. He was a great man, a superb technician, and I will miss him greatly,” Brian Moore wrote.
