Katey Sagal was born to his parents, Boris Sagal, and Sara Zwilling. Her parents were also in the showbiz industry, but they passed on when Katey was still young.

Boris Sagal
Sagal’s father, Boris, was a Ukrainian-Jewish film director who moved to the United States. Boris was known for directing “episodes of The Twilight Zone, T.H.E. Cat, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Night Gallery, Columbo: Candidate for Crime, Peter Gunn, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”
Other film credits of his include The Scarecrow, the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man and, posthumously, Masada.
Boris had divorced Katey’s mother and married dancer/actress Marge Champion.
He died in 1981, in an helicopter accident, while filming the miniseries World War III.
Sara Zwillong
Katey’s mother, Sara was an actress, producer, writer and singer of Amish heritage. She went by the stage name Sara Macon.
She passed away in 1975, after suffering a heart-related illness.

Katey Sagal is an actress and singer, best known for appearing as Peggy Bundy, in the TV sitcom “Married… with Children,” from 1987 to 1997.

Born on January 19, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, Sagal began her career in the entertainment industry as a singer, and was part of the music band The Harlettes as far back as 1978.

She had also released a number of albums, mixtapes and singles in rock, pop and country genres.
After Sagal gained fame with the film “Married… with Children,” she went on to appear on other film productions such as “8 Simple Rules”, “Sons of Anarchy”, and “The Conners”.
In the Matt Groening animated sci-fi comedy series “Futurama”, Sagal voiced the role of Leela, the one-eyed spaceship pilot.
Other TV works she has appeared in are “The Big Bang Theory”, “Lost”, “Maid to Order”, “House Broken”, and “Pitch Perfect 2”.
In 2021, Sagal played lead character Annie “Rebel” Bello in the series Rebel, and in 2022, Sagal was called to voice the character Leela in a 20-episode remake of “Futurama.”
