Is Charlotte Owen related to Boris Johnson?

Charlotte Owen is a British former special adviser. She is not related to Boris Johnson in any way. However, she did work for Mr Johnson.

Ms Owen worked as a parliamentary intern for Boris Johnson for six months before becoming a parliamentary assistant to Alok Sharma for seven months.

She was a senior parliamentary assistant to Jake Berry and Mr Johnson for a year and nine months after that, before working exclusively for Mr Johnson for a year and two months.

Ms Owen served as a special adviser to both Mr Johnson and Liz Truss from February 2021 to October 2022.When Mr Johnson was in office, she worked half the time for him and the other half for Chris Heaton-Harris, the chief whip and parliamentary secretary to the Treasury.

Charlotte Owen received a life peerage in June 2023, following the publication of Johnson’s 2022 resignation honours list. Some criticised the decision because of Owen’s perceived inexperience and lack of significant contributions to British politics or society.

Ms Owen graduated from York University in 2015 with a 2:1 in politics and international relations, before working as an intern at a public relations company.
