Adam Driver feels watching himself perform is painful. In a 2019 profile in The New Yorker, the actor said his distaste for watching himself stems from genuine anxiety that dates back to his time on Lena Dunham’s Girls.

“That’s when I was like, ‘I can’t watch myself in things. I certainly can’t watch this if we’re going to continue doing it,’” Adam Driver said. Most actors don’t watch their films; they feel they would be self-critical about their performance or simply want to watch other people’s work.

An example fee to book Adam Driver is in the starting range of $150,000-$299,000. However, it depends on the occasion. He receives an annual salary of at least $2 million.

Adam Driver has said on multiple occasions that he disliked watching or listening to his own performances. During a radio interview with NPR’s Fresh Air, Driver stated he disliked watching or listening to his acting work.

Adam Driver says his usual technique is to leave the theatre and, “then I go back, and when the lights come up, I stand up I pretend that I was there the whole time.”
