Born on June 22, 1996, in Madrid, Spain, Rodri began his football career at a young age, playing for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid, and made his first-team debut for Atletico Madrid B during the 2014-2015 season.

In 2018, Rodri got signed with Manchester City, as part of the team’s midfield. He helped the club win several domestic titles, including the English Premier League.
On the international front, Rodri has been playing for the Spanish national team since 2018 in both local and international matches.
In 2022, Rodri signed a contract extension with Manchester City, which will expire in 2027. Rodri went ahead to score his first Champions League goal in 2023, during a game against Bayern Munich.
