Former Australian football coach, Rale Rasic’s cause of death is not known yet. However, his death was announced on June 8, 2023, and he was age 87.

He started his professional career as a footballer in Yugoslav clubs. He played with FK Proleter Zrenjanin, FK Vojvodina, FK Borac Banja Luka, and more. He migrated to Australia in 1962 but returned to Yugoslavia after a year and a half to serve in the army. He came back to Australia to play football in the Victorian Cup.

Rasic was appointed the head coach of the Australian national soccer team at the age of 34 in 1970. Four years later, he coached the Australian national team to the World Cup.
He was inducted into the Sports Australian Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2001, he was awarded the Australian Sports Medal and the Centenary Medal for “service for soccer.” In 2004, he was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for “service to soccer as a player, coach, and administrator.”
