Paul Eckstein, who was an American actor, film writer, and producer, starred and contributed to many movies and tv shows before he died. Some of them include; Godfather of Harlem, Hoodlum, Bella Mafia, Seven, Star Tre: Deep Space Nine, The Refrigerator, Black Rose of Harlem, and more.

Eckstein made his debut appearance on set when he starred in Seven (1995), by David Fincher. He also appeared five times on Star Trek: Voyager (1998-2001), and two times in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1997-99).

He was best known for co-creating the MGM+ popular crime drama Godfather of Harlem along with writer Chris Brancato. He was also the head of the writers’ room in the first year of the 2015-17 popular Netflix drug drama series Narcos. He also wrote and produced ABC and Disney’s Biblical Of Kings and Prophets in 2016.
Eckstein died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at age 59. His death was announced by the companies he worked for MGM+ and ABC – in an official statement.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our brilliant colleague Paul Eckstein, the co-creator and executive producer of Godfather of Harlem, and a beloved member of the MGM+ and ABC Signature families. Working on the series was a labor of love for Paul, who based the show in part on his family’s personal history,” the statement read.
