Famous Broadway actor, Michael Lamont has died at age 76 after a severe battle with Alzheimer’s disease. His death occurred on May 21, 2023.

Born on April 3, 1947, Michael Lamont started his career when he was just 13 years old. His debut Broadway appearance was in Bye Bye Birdie in 1960. This was after he moved from New York to L.A to join the rock band Group Therapy.

He performed in 11 Broadway productions during the early stages of his career. Some of them include Oliver! Do I Hear a Waltz?, and The Royal Hunt of the Sun. Before that, he had studied with acting teacher Sanford Meisner when he was 18 years old.

Lamont completely forwent acting and went into full-time photography when he discovered that it was more of his field. He worked for several production companies and institutions like NoHo Arts Center, Reprise, Getty Villa, Shakespeare Festival/L.A, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, The Geffen Playhouse, The Old Globe, Pasadena Playhouse, McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Deaf West Theatre, Colony Theatre, East West Players, and more.
