On June 4, Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his retirement from football following AC Milan’s final game of the Serie A season at age 41.

Zlatan’s AC Milan contract expires at the end of June and he had already announced he would not e renewing it following an injury-plagued season. However, the Swedish legend announced that “the time has come to say goodbye to football”.

Speaking on the pitch at full-time, Ibrahimovic said: “I have so many emotions in here, the first I arrived here you guys have my happiness. The second time, Love. I want to thank my family, everyone close to me for their patience. I want to thank my second family, the players…”.
