Daniel Halseth Murder: Who killed Daniel Halseth and Why?

Daniel Halseth was a 45 years old Las Vegas computer technician who was brutally murdered by his 16 years old daughter Sierra Halseth and her boyfriend Aaron Guerrero.

Daniel Halseth was stabbed 70 times and his body was found dismembered and burned in April 2021. Sierra Halseth and Aaron Guerrero claimed they killed Daniel Halseth because he abused and mistreated his daughter, but his family denied this.

Guerrero ran away from home the day before Daniel Halseth’s body was discovered, and the teenagers later purchased a circular saw, saw blades, bleach, lighter fluid, disposable gloves, and a drop cloth from stores near Halseth’s home, according to arresting documents. Hundreds of dollars were also taken out of one of Halseth’s bank accounts.

Following the murder, the teens stole Halseth’s car and were apprehended in Salt Lake City, shortly after recording a video in which they claimed to have killed someone.

District Judge Tierra Jones sentenced Sierra and Guerrero to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 22 years. The defendants also were ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution. Sierra Halseth is currently incarcerated at North Las Vegas’ Florence McClure Women’s Correctional Centre.
