Amal Clooney has not been married before George. They had first met through a mutual friend in July 2013. She became engaged to actor George Clooney on 28 April 2014.

Amal Clooney and George married on 27 September 2014 in Venice’s city hall (at Ca’ Farsetti). They were married by Clooney’s friend Walter Veltroni, former mayor of Rome.

Amal Clooney is qualified to practice law in the United States, England, and Wales. Amal worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, where she was Judicial assistant to Judge Patrick Robinson, Presiding Judge.
