American singer and songwriter, Jake Shears has been trending lately after he released his latest album Last Man Dancing. It is a 12-song album that features several artistes including Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia, and Amber Martin.

The songwriter became popular in 2001 when he co-founded the group Scissors Sisters. Before that, he was a go-go dancer and an exotic dancer.

Along with Scott Hoffman, Shears formed Scissors Sisters in 2001 as a performance art stunt, playing outrageous shows in clubs like Luxx, the heart of the electroclash scene in Williamsburg Brooklyn. However, they went their separate ways in 2011.
“I felt we had kinda done what we set out to do. We did 10 solid years of recording and touring. And I just felt like it was time for everybody to go live their lives. The bad was our lives for a long time. But there could be another Scissors record again someday. I’ll never rule that out,” he said.
