Toyah Willcox is an English musician, actress and TV presenter. She is the daughter of Beric Willcox and Barbara Willcox.

Her father, Beric Willcox, owned three factories and ran a successful joinery business. Her mother Barbara Joy, née Rollinson, was a professional dancer with whom he fell in love after seeing her on stage with singing and comedy double act Flanagan and Allen in Weston-super-Mare, and they married in 1949. Her mother had to give up her career after giving birth to Willcox’s elder sisters, Nicola and Kim.

Toyah Willcox has had eight top 40 singles in her career, released over 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and ten feature films, and voiced and presented numerous television shows
She fronted the band Toyah from 1977 to 1983 before embarking on a solo career in the mid-1980s. Willcox was nominated for British Breakthrough Act and Best Female Solo Artist at the 1982 Brit Awards. She was nominated for this award two more times, in 1983 and 1984. Her hit singles include “It’s a Mystery”, “Thunder in the Mountains”, and “I Want to Be Free”.
