What did Jamie Benn do to get suspended?

Canadian professional ice hockey winger and captain of the National Hockey League (NHL) Dallas Stars Jamie Benn would be suspended for two games during the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs after landing on Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone with his stick in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

He received a game misconduct and was ejected from the game. Jamie  Benn was selected 129th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2007 NHL Entry Draught. His junior hockey career was spent with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He competed for Canada in the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, where he helped the country win a gold medal.

He won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. With 87 points in the 2014-15 NHL season, Benn won the Art Ross Trophy as the league’s leading scorer. Under his leadership, the Stars advanced to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020.

Jamie Benn played his 1,000th NHL game on February 6, 2023, becoming only the second player from the Stars organisation to do so after Mike Modano.
