Tina Newgarden and Joey Newgarden are the parents of American racing driver, Josef Newgarden. Personal information about them is unknown, however, it is known that they had two other children named Josie Newgarden and Kristina Newgarden. Also, they have been very supportive of their son’s career from the onset.

In 2002, his father purchased a kart. His family moved outside Tennesee to find a competitive Kart racing environment when he was 13 years old and led them to a kart racing facility in New Castle, Indiana, that had recently been launched by IndyCar Driver Mark Dismore.

He started his open-wheel car career in the Skip Barber Racing School series in 2006. He finished as runner-up in the Southern Regional Series with three wins and another seven podium places.
Newgarden was selected for the Team USA scholarship after the 2008 season to compete at the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy. He went on to secure the Formula Ford Festival Title and became the only American to do so.
