In 2016, Lim and his team mate Jang Woo-jin won the men’s doubles category during the 2016 Belarus Open.
In 2018, the duo also recorded double victories at the Korea Open, and the 2018 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals. In the same year, Lim won the men’s singles at the Polish Open.
Lim’s highest and current ranking on the ITTF so far is number 11, which he achieved on April 18, 2023.
Lim adopts a left-handed shakehand hold playing style, and uses the Viscaria Super ALC racquet.
Lim has represented South Korea in many World Championships such as the 2021 Houston Doubles, and the Doha Doubles, where he took home silver medals in both events.
