Spike Lee Children: Meet Satchel Lee, Jackson Lee

American filmmaker and actor Spike Lee and his wife author and entrepreneur Tonya Lewis Lee have two children Satchel Lee and Jackson Lee

Although Satchel and Jackson are still quite young, they’ve already begun to pursue careers in the arts that parallel their fathers.

Satchel, who was born in December 1994, graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2017 with a focus on film but has since moved into the world of queer fashion and art through her publication DRME.

Satchel manages the magazine alongside business partner Caroline D’Arcy Gorman. Despite being only a few years old, it has already featured interviews with Billie Eilish and fashion designer Christian Siriano.

The siblings have also worked together on some artistic endeavours, including a short film for Coach called Words Matter. Michael B. Jordan stars in the short, and Jackson and Satchel worked on it with their father. In addition to the film, the siblings directed a series of interviews that focused on the power of words.

In a pair of historic firsts for the embattled Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., Spike Lee’s daughter, Satchel, and son, Jackson, served as the 2021 Golden Globe Ambassadors.

The HFPA announced that Lee’s children with producer Tonya Lewis Lee are the first two siblings of colour to be appointed ambassadors. Jackson Lee is also the first Black male ambassador.
