Ray Stevenson reportedly died on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at age 58. His cause of death is yet to be revealed. According to his reps at Independent Talent, he died in Italy while filming Cassino In Ischia.

“Damn. So sorry to hear about the passing, far too young, of Ray Stevenson. I only knew him a little from shooting post-credits of Thor 2 & a couple of interactions at events, but we had some good laughs & he was a joy to work with. His friends and family are in my heart today,” DCEU Lead Director, James Gunn wrote.

He got his first leading role in the Scottish horror picture, Outpost in 2008. He also appeared in Punisher: War Zone as Frank Castle/The Punisher, that same year.
Stevenson appeared in several movies and tv shows including Kill the Irishman, Thor, The Three Musketeers, G. I. Joe: Retaliation, Jayne Mansfield’s Car, Thor: The Dark World, Divergent, Big Game, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, The Transporter: Refueled, and more – from 2011 to 2015.
He started his career in 1998 when he starred in the film The Theory of Flight. He played the role of a gigolo hired to help Helena Bonham Carter’s character lose her virginity.
