American magician, David Copperfield became famous at a very young age. He created and headlined his show, the Magic of David Copperfield show for months when he was just 19 years old. The show was held at the Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He is known for his combination of storytelling and illusion and has a career spanning over four decades that has earned him 11 Guinness World Records, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a knighthood by the French government, and has been named a Living Legend by the U.S Library of Congress.

Born David Seth Kotkin on September 16, 1956, he adopted the stage name, David Copperfield from Charles Dickens’ novel because he liked how it sounded.
His television career began in earnest when he was discovered by Joseph Cates, a producer of Broadway shows and television specials. He hosted his debut television show in 1977 dubbed The Magic of ABC, and also hosted The Magic of David Copperfield specials on CSB between 1978 and 2001.
